Groups & Flags

Each Veloce Trackday is split into three groups:

Group 3 is for riders new to the track, or riders looking for a more relaxed pace. Some expert riders with small displacement motorcycles may also be more comfortable in this section. Passing in corners is allowed, but only on the outside.

Group 2 is for more experienced trackday aficionados, and covers the bulk of fast street riders with trackday experience. Passing in corners is allowed inside or outside with a comfortable margin (+/- 6 feet).

Group 1 is for the truly fast riders. Racers ride in this group, along with experienced trackday riders that are comfortable with the fastest riders. There are no passing restrictions in this group.

These groups are not static, and while we have you sign up for a specific group to help keep the sections balanced, if you would like to move during the day, please talk to an instructor. As long as there are no crowding issues, we'll be happy to accommodate you.

Flags

We run a very simple flag set, and promise you won't have to stay up nights memorizing our system.

Green. Track is live, go fast, have fun.

Yellow (standing, not waving). Continue to ride fast, just be aware that there has been a change to the track environment you may or may not notice. Example: Bike is parked away from racing line and out if impact zone.

Yellow (waving). There is no passing in a corner with a yellow flag. Passing can resume once a standing yellow is displayed.

Black. Communicates to a rider that we need them to pull off the racing line and come in to see an official. It will be pointed at the rider in question and follow them as they pass the flag stand.

Red. A safety issue requires us to close the track immediately. Put your left hand up,  get off the racing line, gently roll out of the throttle, and proceed to hot pit for direction from course control.

Checkered. Session is over. Next time by pit entrance, come on in!
